FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
To help you we have listed a few of the most common questions clients ask before booking one of our Pop-Up Photo Studios. If you can not find the answer to your question, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will try and respond to you query as soon as we can.
Do you charge for travel?
We are based in Northumberland, not far from 'The Centre Of Britain' Haltwhistle and we offer free travel to events held within a 50 mile radius - effectively this covers Northumberland, Cumbria, Tyneside, Durham and the Lake District, as well as a good chunk of the Scottish Borders. After that we charge a reasonable amount to cover our fuel and other costs, as well as our time. This is worked out on a per event basis.
When would you charge for accommodation?
We are happy to work really hard however we have to concede that we are not super human beings. We would charge for accommodation if getting home would involve a long drive late at night when tired. This can only be decided on a per event basis so we would discuss it with you before booking. Overnight accommodation charges are based on the cost of a Premier Inn / Travelodge style hotel near to the venue.
How much space do you need?
The Moon Booth and Boat Booth need a space at least 3m wide x 4m long x 2.4m high. This is a minimum - more space for props and people waiting will make the experience better! Do bear in mind that when set up we mustn't block access to doorways (especially fire escapes), and that our 'studio' shouldn't be a through route for people. We're always happy to speak directly with your venue in advance to make sure. There's a helpful plan of our setup HERE
How much power do the you need?
We need access to one 13amp power socket so some outdoor events may not suitable. We travel with a variety of extension cables just in case the power source is not in the same room.
Do you stay with the pop up Photo Studio?
Yes! Despite its name, the Moon Booth is not an automated machine, similar to other photo booths around - it is a complete photographic service. We take trouble over every picture, helping people to feel welcome, comfortable and looking their best.
What are ‘idle hours’ for?
Sometimes it not possible to set up or break down the pop-up Photo Booth directly before or after an event. For example, if you require the booth setting up at 6pm but do not want it running until 9pm, this would be charged at 3 idle hours on top of the hire costs. Idle hours are charged at £20.00 per hour.
Do you provide vintage costumes?
We don’t provide full costumes, but we bring a selection of sutiable hats and carves and topical props to help you feel dressed up. Many of our props are old and authentic to the era that we are trying to emulate as this helps people get int a character. It also means that they tend to be unique one-off pieces and costly to replace. If props are damaged, the cost may be forwarded on to the hirer.
How long does it take you to set up?
Depending on your venue it can take up to 60 mins to set up, so we will need to arrive on site at least one hour before your hire time is due to start. This set up time is is not counted as part of your hire period. ‘Get out’ for the Moon Booth takes around 30 - 40mins and again this is not counted as part of your hire period.
How much deposit do I need to pay?
For private events we request a £50 deposit to secure your date then the remaining balance is due 14 days prior to your event. We will give you payment details as part of the booking process.
Do we get a digital copy of the pictures taken in the booth?
All photos of your event are uploaded to an album on our Facebook page, except photographs of children, vulnerable adults and anyone else who requests to be omitted. You are free to share and download these. If your child was photographed then you are very welcome to contact us by email, email@example.com or private message on Facebook providing the details of the event and a description of what your child was wearing on the day and we will happily send you a digital copy.
If you hire us for a private event you will also receive a disc with all the images taken in the Moon Booth directly after your event. For other events we can usually give the organiser copies for a nominal fee.
